World Wide Web - www

World Wide Web consisting of a collection of internet sites that offer text and graphics and sound and animation resources. In other words www is the hypermedia document presentation system that can be accessed over the Internet using software called a Web browser

•A unique name for a web page within a web site

Files that contain digitized sound and video.

Search engine:

A search engine is a facility on the web that allows a user to find web sites by providing key words or questions. eg Yahoo (http://www.yahoo.com/) and Google(http://www.google.com/)

A Web page or site that provides a list of other Web pages or sites. Usually categorized by topic and is searchable. Examples of web index is YAHOO

Web directory:
A web directory or link directory is a directory on the World  Wide Web. It specializes in linking to other web sites and categorizing those links.eg aboutUS.org etc

Searching for information eg Access libraries, latest news
Entertainment eg access movies, music, magazines & computer games and education

EMAIL

 

Email is just electronic mail (e-mail). Examples of email are somebody@yahoo.com and somebody@hotmail.com etc.
